In summer 2025, Palm Beach County hosted two of the world’s most iconic soccer clubs, Real Madrid and Manchester City, as basecamps for the FIFA Club World Cup. While the matches were played elsewhere, the teams trained, stayed, and spent time in the community. Our task at the Huddle Up Group? Quantify the impact of it all.

The webinar above walks through the methodology and findings from this unique project. Using geofencing data, hotel performance metrics, and tax revenue inputs, we analyzed:

  • Out-of-state visitation to training sites and hotels

  • Team and fan spending across Palm Beach

  • The tourism tax revenue generated

  • Why some locations (like Gardens North) outperformed others

The result? A detailed look at how hosting international teams can generate real, measurable economic impact, even without a stadium in play.

Whether you're planning for the 2026 World Cup or exploring your region’s potential as a sports tourism destination, there are important takeaways here.
